Detour Straight TM5-1B(S) (1200x300mm) corflute sign panel provides straight-ahead detour guidance for motorists within temporary traffic management environments. It is commonly used to keep traffic travelling along a temporary detour route where the intended movement is to continue straight ahead rather than turn left or right. This panel should not be confused with the separate TM1-6B DETOUR AHEAD advance warning sign.

The signface layout, arrow symbol, legend and colours are manufactured to follow the applicable AS 1743:2023 design specifications for the TM5-1B(S) guide/detour panel. This directional panel can be used in compatible 1200x300mm sign frames, including the 1200x300mm Double-Sided Traffic Sign Frame Type 4, or integrated as the lower directional panel within Multi-Message Traffic Sign Frame No. 1 arrangements.

UAGS temporary traffic sign corflute panels are manufactured on 6mm UV stabilised corflute (plastic flute board) using Class 400T full-cube prismatic retroreflective yellow sheeting. The bold black DETOUR text, straight-ahead arrow and black border support strong legibility in daytime and low-light conditions. The lightweight construction is suited to efficient transport, vehicle loading and rapid site deployment across changing work zones.

This 1200x300mm panel may be deployed as a standalone detour continuation marker in a compatible single-sided or double-sided frame where specified by the applicable TMP or TGS. It can be useful along staged detour routes, through intersections or at route confirmation points where motorists need to continue straight ahead on the temporary route.

When used as part of a larger detour sequence, the panel may support through-movement guidance between turn points, side-road diversions or changed traffic arrangements. It may be used with advance warning, road closure, local traffic or additional detour guidance signs, depending on the applicable TMP, TGS, site conditions and authority requirements.

Selection, placement and use remain subject to the applicable TMP, TGS, project requirements, site conditions and relevant authority requirements. Available for pickup in Bayswater North or delivery Australia-wide.

Detour Straight TM5-1B(S) FAQs

What is the Detour Straight TM5-1B(S) sign panel used for?

It is used to provide straight-ahead detour guidance for motorists who need to continue along a temporary detour route, changed traffic arrangement or staged diversion.

Can this panel be used as a standalone detour continuation marker?

Yes. This 1200x300mm directional panel may be used as a standalone detour marker in compatible single-sided or double-sided 1200x300mm sign frames. It may also be used as the lower directional panel within compatible Multi-Message Sign (MMS) frame arrangements, where specified by the applicable TMP or TGS.

Where would this straight detour panel commonly be positioned?

It may be positioned along a detour route, through an intersection, after a previous turn instruction or at a route confirmation point where motorists need to continue straight ahead rather than turn onto another road.

Is this the same as a Detour Ahead sign?

No. This TM5-1B(S) panel provides straight-ahead detour direction guidance using a DETOUR legend and straight arrow. It should not be confused with the separate TM1-6B DETOUR AHEAD sign, which is an advance warning sign with text legend only.

What reflective sheeting is used on this panel?

This panel uses Class 400T full-cube prismatic retroreflective yellow sheeting to support visibility in temporary traffic management environments. Older project documents, supplier references or road authority drawings may refer to Class 1, Class 1W, Class 1 WZ or similar reflective sheeting terminology for temporary roadwork signs.

Does installing this sign panel guarantee worksite compliance?

No. This sign panel is one component within a broader temporary traffic management arrangement. The selection, placement and sequencing of temporary signage must be determined by the applicable TMP, TGS, project requirements, site conditions and relevant authority requirements.
