Returns Policy

Returns Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Returns Policy applies to products purchased from UAGS, operated by UAG Services Pty Ltd (ABN 20 508 692 637). It explains how returns, refunds, damaged items, incorrect deliveries and faulty product claims are handled.

This policy applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Business and trade purchases

UAGS supplies traffic control equipment, temporary traffic management products, vehicle warning systems, vehicle fitout components, safety equipment, signs, electrical components and related trade products.

Many products are purchased for business, trade, fleet, project or worksite use. Customers are responsible for checking product suitability before purchase, including size, specifications, compatibility, installation requirements, project requirements and intended use.

Return requests

Return requests must be made within 30 days of delivery unless another timeframe applies under Australian Consumer Law.

UAGS does not offer automatic change-of-mind returns. A return request does not mean the return has been approved.

Change-of-mind includes situations where a customer has ordered the wrong product, no longer requires the product, selected the wrong size, chose an unsuitable item, found an alternative product, or changed their project requirements after ordering.

UAGS may approve a return at its discretion for standard stocked items that are unused, undamaged, complete and in resaleable condition. Approval must be provided in writing before the item is returned.

Items sent back without prior written approval may not be accepted.

Items that are generally not returnable

Unless required under Australian Consumer Law, we generally do not accept returns for:

  • custom printed signs, custom-made products or made-to-order products
  • special-order products ordered specifically for a customer
  • products that have been installed, wired, fitted, programmed, drilled, cut, modified or used
  • electrical components that have been connected, cut, marked, crimped, soldered or altered
  • products damaged after delivery due to handling, installation, storage or misuse
  • clearance, discontinued or final-sale items, where clearly marked at the time of purchase
  • items missing packaging, parts, accessories, manuals or included components
  • bulky, heavy or palletised goods unless return freight is approved by UAGS before return

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If an item is damaged in transit, faulty, incomplete or not what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible so we can assess the issue and help resolve it.

Please include your order number, a description of the issue and clear photos of the product, packaging and any visible damage. For freight damage, photos of the carton, pallet or packaging may be required before the item is moved, used or disposed of.

Where a product has a fault or issue covered by Australian Consumer Law, we will provide the remedy required by law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Australian Consumer Law rights apply separately from any manufacturer warranty or UAGS warranty. A product warranty does not replace your consumer guarantee rights.

Product suitability and installation

Many UAGS products are trade, traffic control, vehicle fitout, electrical or worksite products. Suitability may depend on the project, installation, traffic plan, vehicle setup, authority requirements, operating environment or intended use.

Customers should confirm product suitability before purchase, installation or use. Some products may require competent installation, qualified fitting, correct electrical protection, project-specific assessment or use in accordance with a traffic management plan, vehicle setup or manufacturer instructions.

We do not accept returns for products damaged by incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, overloading, modification, misuse, unsuitable storage, environmental exposure beyond the product’s intended use, or use outside the manufacturer’s instructions, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

How to request a return or report an issue

To request a return or report a faulty, damaged or incorrect item, contact us at [email protected] before sending any item back.

Please include:

  • your order number or invoice number
  • your name and contact details
  • the product involved
  • the reason for the request
  • photos if the item is damaged, faulty, incorrect or affected by freight damage

If a return is approved, we will provide return instructions. Approval must be received before sending any item back to UAGS. Items sent back without prior written approval may not be accepted or may be returned to the customer at their cost.

Approved returns should be sent or delivered to:

Return shipping costs

For returns approved at UAGS’ discretion, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges are not refundable unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, return freight will be assessed based on the issue and your rights under Australian Consumer Law. We may provide return instructions, arrange collection, request photos, or ask for the product to be made available for inspection.

For bulky, heavy or palletised goods, return freight must be approved by UAGS before the item is sent back. Customers must not return bulky freight items without written return instructions from UAGS.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect an approved return, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved.

If approved, the refund will be processed to the original payment method. Please allow time for your bank, card provider or payment provider to process the refund after it has been issued.

Refunds may exclude original shipping charges, return freight, payment surcharges or other non-refundable costs, unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

Exchanges

Exchanges are not automatic and may be approved at UAGS’ discretion for eligible standard stocked items only.

If an exchange is approved, the original item must be unused, undamaged, complete and in resaleable condition before the replacement item is supplied.

Warranty claims

Some products are covered by a manufacturer warranty, a UAGS warranty, or both. Warranty terms vary by product type, brand and manufacturer.

Warranty claims may require inspection, testing, photos, proof of purchase, installation details or confirmation that the product was used within its intended operating conditions.

Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, overloading, modification, accidental damage, unauthorised repair or use outside the product’s intended application, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.
